Job summary

The City of Lancaster is seeking a skilled Plant Maintenance Mechanic to perform maintenance and repairs on water and wastewater plant equipment. You will disassemble and service pumps, motors, valves, and related machinery, and complete work orders with attention to safety and efficiency.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of relevant experience; PA license requirements may apply within 18 months.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least 3 years of maintenance/repair experience on pumps, motors, valves, pipes and related water/wastewater equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled maintenance and repair on plant and pumping station equipment.
• Follow safe practices in daily duties and inspections.
• Disassemble, repair and reassemble pumps, valves, motors, and associated machinery.
• Inspect and repair grit machines, pumps, valves and clarifiers; replace worn parts as needed.
• Maintain and repair odor control systems, chemical feed pumps, and flow/pressure regulators.
• Read and interpret blueprints and operation manuals; complete work orders.
