Job summary

The City of Lancaster, PA is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee Plant Maintenance Mechanics and Maintenance Workers at the Wastewater Treatment Plant and pumping stations.

Responsibilities include planning, safety, training, SOP development, CMMS data logging, and emergency response; candidates should have strong mechanical/electrical knowledge and a proven supervisory background.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or completion of a GED is required.
• Associate degree or equivalent technology degree preferred; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least four (4) years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repair of wastewater equipment; supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows safe practices in the performance of duties.
• Plans, assigns, and inspects work of the Plant Maintenance Mechanics and Maintenance Workers.
• Coordinates and tracks training for the Plant Maintenance Mechanics and Maintenance Workers engaged in repair and maintenance.
• Determines schedules and assignments for work activities based on priority and maintenance plans.
• Provides technical supervision for Plant Maintenance Mechanics.
• Inspects mechanical equipment and identifies components needing replacement or repair.
• Trains and evaluates safety procedures with employees.
• Maintains safety records and prepares reports.
• Uses CMMS to log maintenance activities and recordkeeping.
• Generates reports for federal, state and local requirements.
• Responds to emergency calls and assists with major breakdowns as needed.
• Assists with requisitions for materials and supplies.
