Job summary

City of Lancaster is seeking a Plant Maintenance Mechanic for its Water/Wastewater facilities in Lancaster, PA. The role performs skilled maintenance and repair on pumps, valves, motors, piping and related equipment at a Water or Wastewater Plant.

Requires a High School diploma or GED and a minimum of 3 years' experience in maintenance and repair of pumps, motors, valves and piping. A valid PA driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain Collection System Certification Class E within

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or completion of a GED is required.
• At least three (3) years of experience in maintenance and repair of pumps, motors, valves, pipes and related water and wastewater equipment is required.

Responsibilities

• Follows safe practices in the performance of duties.
• Repairs plant breakdowns, inspects operating conditions, and completes work orders from supervisor.
• Disassembles, repairs and reassembles pumps, valves, motors, piping and related plant equipment.
• Inspects and repairs and/or replaces gears, bearings, and other components on pumps and associated equipment.
• Maintains and repairs odor control and chemical feed systems as needed.
