Job summary

Malaga County Water District seeks an Operator II for the WWTF and water distribution sites. You will monitor operations, perform sampling and lab work, operate and maintain equipment, keep records, and prepare reports. Weekend work and on-call rotation are required.

Candidate must hold Grade II wastewater certificate, D1/T1 water certificates, a Class C California Driver's License, and be able to supervise other operators. Pre-employment drug screening applies.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED and Grade II wastewater certificate required.
Water D1 and T1 certificates required.
Class C California Driver's License with driving record.

Responsibilities

Monitor wastewater treatment operations and equipment.
Perform sampling and lab work as required.
Operate and maintain WWTF equipment.
Make mathematical calculations and maintain records.
Prepare reports and conduct inspections of facilities and equipment.
Perform maintenance on the sewer collection system and understand pretreatment operations.
Support water distribution system maintenance and water quality testing.
