Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• NC certification as Wastewater Operator (Grade III or higher) and/or Water Operator (Grade B Surface Water) is required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR.
• Experience in a water treatment environment.
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read, write, compile, and analyze data and reports daily.
• Ability to monitor control panels, gauges, and meters for proper plant operation.
• Must be available to work weekends, overtime, and on-call as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains water distribution system including servicing of pumps, motors, valves, generators, and equipment.
• Handle chemical feed systems, including chemical dosing and inventory management.
• Maintains pump stations.
• Perform sample collection, preparation, and laboratory testing.
• Maintain records, perform data entry, and provide detailed reporting.
• Ensure completion of work assignments within deadlines and in compliance with safety regulations.
• Analyze and evaluate pump equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and monitor water operations.
• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs of equipment and infrastructure.
• Perform facility grounds maintenance including cleaning equipment and tanks.
• Perform general landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, clean-ups, pruning, and other tasks.
• Performs other related duties as directed.
