Job summary

The City of Clermont is seeking a Water/Wastewater Operator to assist in the operation and maintenance of treatment facilities and related equipment under general supervision.

Requires a High School Diploma or GED, 1 year of related experience, Florida class C Wastewater Certification, chlorine handling certification, and a valid Florida Driver's License. CDL Class B and FEMA IS100/IS700 within specified timeframes may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of related experience required.
• Valid Florida class "C" Certification in Wastewater Treatment required.
• Certified in the safe handling of chlorine.
• Certified in "Confined Space Entry".
• Valid Florida Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in operation of treatment facilities and maintenance including sampling, lab testing, and monitoring.
• Monitor, maintain, and repair related equipment, wells, electrical panels, gauges, controllers, and pumps.
• Assist in treating wastewater and reuse on golf courses or other sites.
• Read meters, maintain fuel readings, and inspect fire extinguishers.
• Inspect grease traps to ensure ordinance compliance.
• Assist in supervision and training of trainees and personnel.
• Perform inspections and maintenance of water and wastewater operation systems.
• Work manual tasks such as mowing and operating small equipment.
