Job summary

U.S. Water Services Corporation in Florida is seeking a part-time wastewater plant operator to join our growing utility team. The role operates treatment plants, monitors equipment, runs tests and maintains records to ensure safe discharge and regulatory compliance.

Requirements include a Wastewater Operator's license (C or higher), a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year of experience, and a valid driver's license. Compensation is hourly and commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Must possess a C or higher Wastewater Operator's License to be considered for this position.
• High school/GED education or higher required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience required.
• Valid driver''s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Control equipment and monitor processes that remove or destroy harmful materials, chemicals, and microorganisms from wastewater.
• Run tests to ensure processes are functioning correctly.
• Keep records of water quality and other indicators.
• Operate and maintain pumps and motors moving water and wastewater through filtration systems.
• Monitor plant indicators and make adjustments as necessary.
• Read meters and gauges to ensure equipment operates properly.
• Take samples and run tests to determine water quality.
• Adjust chemical dosing, such as chlorine and fluorine, as needed.
• Use computerized systems to monitor plant processes.
• Address chemical leaks and oxygen deficiencies.
• Maintain records documenting compliance.
