Job summary

The City of Lake City is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant “C” Operator to assist in operating and maintaining the wastewater treatment plant under the Chief Operator. Responsibilities include taking samples, running tests, monitoring equipment, and ensuring data accuracy.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of plant experience, Florida Class “C” certificate, and a valid Florida driver’s license. EEO/AA/ADA/VP employer.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year actual experience in a Wastewater Treatment Plant.
• Florida Class “C” Wastewater Operators Certificate required.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist in operation of wastewater treatment facilities and maintenance, including taking samples and testing.
• Monitor equipment, gauges, and charts; supervise tests and ensure routine cleaning of equipment.
• Provide training and supervision to trainee personnel and maintain legally accurate water quality records.
