Town of Davie seeks a shift-based Water/Wastewater Plant Operator to run daily operations and perform routine laboratory analyses to ensure compliance with state and federal standards.

Educational requirement is a High School or Vocational School diploma with 1+ year of relevant experience and possession of a Florida Class C operator license. A second Class C license within 36 months is required, with a valid driver’s license also needed.

Qualifikationen

• Graduation from High School or Vocational School.
• 1+ year of experience operating electrical and mechanical machinery similar to that in a water/sewer treatment plant.
• Equivalent training and experience accepted.

Aufgaben

• Inspect plant equipment on assigned shift; take samples and perform routine laboratory analyses to adjust treatment processes.
• Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs; take hourly readings and log results.
• Conduct physical and chemical tests (pH, turbidity, metals, residuals) and record findings.
• Ensure sufficient supplies of chemicals and monitor chlorine and ammonia levels.
• Respond to public/utility calls for emergencies and dispatch personnel as needed.
• Keep records, charts, and reports of operations and maintenance activities.
