Job summary

Veolia North America seeks a Wastewater Treatment Operator to participate in operation, maintenance, and repair of water treatment facilities in Massachusetts. You will monitor pumps and related equipment, collect samples, run tests, and keep records to ensure compliant, efficient operation.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED with water/wastewater experience preferred; strong communication and safety discipline are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Some water and/or wastewater experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in writing and orally.
• Knowledge of safety procedures in maintenance and operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and operates wastewater treatment plant equipment such as pumps, valves, motors, blowers, and chemical feed equipment; adjusts/repairs equipment; collects samples; runs tests; maintains records.
• Participates in treatment processes, plant laboratory analyses and operation/maintenance of all plant equipment.
• Ensures all plant records and reports are completed accurately and on time.
• Furnishes necessary assistance to regulatory representatives inspecting the plant.
• Responds to and controls accidental releases of hazardous liquids and gases; performs confined space entries as required.
• Observes pump and motor operation; maintains daily logbooks and data in computer.
