Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking a Wastewater Operator to oversee day-to-day operations of SBR treatment facilities, collection systems, and lift stations. You will perform routine maintenance, collect samples, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

The role requires a high school diploma and up to 2 years in wastewater or related fields, with strong math, reading, and teamwork skills. Willingness to work on weekends/on-call and learn CMMS is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Less than 2 years of experience in water/wastewater industry or related fields.
• Strong reading, math, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Must be safety conscious.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day operations and maintenance of wastewater infrastructure.
• Carry out routine cleaning and housekeeping in work areas.
• Understand and execute written and verbal work orders.
• Perform simple calculations with a calculator.
• Learn and utilize CMMS to schedule work orders.
• Collect water quality samples and maintain records.
• Work weekends, holidays, and be on-call on a rotating basis.
• Respond to emergencies and work extra hours as needed.
• Maintain documentation and records of operations and maintenance.
