American Water is seeking a General Maintenance Worker for the Military Services Group in San Antonio, TX. The role focuses on technical maintenance and repair of water distribution and wastewater systems, with occasional operations support and on-call duties.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, and 0–2 years of related maintenance experience. A valid driver’s license and knowledge of safety regulations are preferred.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years' experience in maintenance of water distribution systems, water pump stations and wastewater collection systems.
• Trade-specific courses preferred.
• Valid state driver's license preferred or required.

Mansioni

• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on water distribution systems, valves, hydrants, meters, mains and wastewater collection systems, pumps and related equipment.
• Maintain pumps, electrical controls and emergency signaling components.
• Prepare maintenance material orders and coordinate with outside contractors as needed.
• Maintain records and reports on operation of systems and review daily work orders.
• Follow EH&S policies and wear PPE; drive company vehicle during scheduled hours.
• Assist with operational tasks in conjunction with operators.
