American Water Co. is seeking a General Maintenance Worker for the Military Services Group at Fort Cavazos.

The role focuses on maintenance and repair of water/wastewater systems, with a 90% repair/maintenance and 10% operations split, and may require overtime, weekends, and on-call duties. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, 0–2 years’ related experience, and possibly a DoD background check for access to the military installation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 0-2 years’ experience in maintenance of water distribution systems, water pump stations and wastewater collection systems.

Responsabilités

• Performs repairs and preventive/corrective maintenance on water distribution systems, valves, hydrants, meters and mains and on wastewater systems.
• Cleans and maintains wet wells, lift stations, grounds and facilities.
• Prepares orders for maintenance materials, supplies and equipment.
• Maintains records and prepares reports on system operation.
• Identifies and coordinates work with outside maintenance contractors.
• Follows Environmental, Health, and Safety policies and wears PPE.
• May assist operations during shift, overtime or on-call.
