Job summary

City of Odessa, Texas is hiring for a Water Distribution/Wastewater Collection technician. The role performs maintenance and repair tasks under basic supervision, executes work orders, and follows directions based on your experience.

You will inspect water lines, collect tools and materials, and respond to emergencies during and after hours while upholding safety standards and city regulations. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with at least two years of field experience.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED preferred.
2 years construction and field operations experience required or equivalent.
Must be able to read plans, schematics, and specs.
Ability to work after hours, weekends, and holidays and respond to emergencies within one hour.

Responsibilities

Perform daily Water Distribution/Wastewater Collection field operations with safety in mind.
Inspect water lines and sewer pipes; complete work orders with required tools.
Collect materials and equipment before arriving at job site; follow all regulations.
Support on-call rotations and after-hours emergencies as needed.
Promote safe work practices and maintain effective communication with team.
