Job summary

City of Odessa, Texas is seeking an Utilities Maintenance Technician to maintain mechanical, piping and structural systems at the Bob Derrington Water Reclamation Plant and related facilities. You will troubleshoot equipment, repair piping, and perform required field work under supervision or independently.

The role requires high school diploma or GED, ability to work in confined spaces, and willingness to be on 24-hour call. A Texas A‑CDL Driver License is required within 6 months.

Qualifications

• General plant maintenance experience with mechanical components such as pumps and piping.
• Ability to read and follow safety procedures and use PPE including SCBA.
• Work in various plant environments and weather conditions; physical labor required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair plant and off-site facility process equipment and piping.
• Repair and assemble components, cut and install piping, and maintain structural elements.
• Clean basins and inspect basins and reservoirs; complete work orders and paperwork.
• Maintain tools in good condition and respond to emergencies; on-call readiness.
