Job summary

The City of Odessa, Texas is seeking a hands-on Water Distribution/Wastewater Collection technician to perform maintenance and repair tasks under basic supervision. You will follow work orders, operate light equipment, and ensure safety on all sites.

A high school diploma or GED is required, with at least two years of construction or field operations experience. A Texas Class A Commercial Driver's License is required or obtainable within six months; a Water Distribution or Wastewater Collection

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; Two years field operations experience required.
• Knowledge of safety standards and OSHA rules for utility work.
• Ability to read plans/schematics and interpret utility location marks.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily operations of Water Distribution/Wastewater field activities; follows safety rules.
• Inspects water lines and sewer pipes; performs maintenance and repairs.
• Responds to emergency maintenance requests during and after hours.
• Maintains regular attendance and interacts with the public professionally.
