Job summary

City of Odessa, Texas is seeking an experienced lead for Water Distribution/Wastewater Collection maintenance and repair. You will supervise field crews, coordinate resources, and review work orders to ensure quality and safety on projects across Odessa.

Under basic supervision, you will guide staff, train crews, inspect work, and ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and city policies while supporting emergency response and ongoing operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 3 years of operation, maintenance, and repair experience in W/WW systems OR 2 years in City of Odessa W/WW divisions.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Field Operations crews maintaining W/WW infrastructure and ensures safety rules and policies are followed.
• Coordinates crews, equipment, materials, and tools to complete work orders and reviews work for quality and compliance.
• Performs field inspections; ensures regulations and safety requirements are met and provides technical guidance as needed.
• Coaches, trains, and evaluates staff; conducts performance reviews and discusses work methods.
• Maintains inventories of materials and equipment; tracks costs and time.
