Job summary

The City of Odessa is seeking a maintenance worker to support Water Distribution/Wastewater Collection operations. You will perform repairs, inspections, and routine maintenance on water and sewer lines under basic supervision.

The role requires safe work practices and the ability to respond to emergencies as needed. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and 2 years of field operations experience, with a willingness to work rotating shifts and after-hours on-call duties in

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 2 years construction and field operations experience required OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs the daily operations of Water Distribution/Wastewater Collection field operations.
• Inspects water lines and sewer pipes and conducts maintenance and repair.
• Responds to after-hours emergencies within one hour of notification.
• Operates light machinery following OSHA and safety guidelines.
• Identifies and marks underground utility lines using the 811 ticket system.
• Maintains attendance and is on-call for rotating shifts as needed.
