Veolia North America seeks an Operation Maintenance Specialist I for water and wastewater treatment in Portage, MI. The role focuses on maintaining wells, lift stations, street sweeping, meter reading, and related distribution system tasks.

Candidate will diagnose equipment, follow SOPs, and perform preventive maintenance. CDL with air brake and tanker endorsements preferred, with two years in municipal public works supporting a robust public service effort.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years’ municipal public works experience preferred.
• Must be able to obtain Class B CDL with Air Brake and Tanker Endorsement in Michigan.

Responsabilités

• Diagnoses basic wastewater treatment equipment and pump station issues and takes corrective action.
• Operates equipment and monitors operating conditions; records observations.
• Performs field tests and collects water samples following standard methods.
• Trains peers and subordinates as requested.
• Walks meter reading routes and conducts routine maintenance tasks.
