Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to work in the Water/Wastewater Division in the Treasure Coast region between Palm Bay and Port St. Lucie, FL.

The successful candidate will be responsible for successful completion of field tasks as assigned by the Project Superintendent and Craft Foreman. You will assist with structure layout, field purchases, and engineering duties for construction planning, while maintaining project logs, schedules, and as-built drawings.

Qualifications

• Surveying and layout experience.
• Technical writing ability.
• 1–2 years of field experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist Foreman with structure layout.
• Prepare field purchase orders.
• Assist engineering duties for construction planning.
• Maintain and update project logs and schedules.
• Identify need for RFIs.
• Prepare, review and process shop drawings.
• Maintain as-built drawings.
• Collect and assemble O&M material.
• Perform subcontract scope analysis.
• Assist with purchasing and expediting.
• Document distribution.
• Meeting minutes and distribution.
• Scheduling.
