Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to support the Water/Wastewater Division in the Treasure Coast region (Palm Bay to Port St. Lucie, FL). The role focuses on completing field tasks efficiently under supervision from the Project Superintendent and Craft Foreman.

The candidate will assist with structure layout, RFIs, shop drawings, and maintaining project logs, while coordinating purchases and subcontract activities to ensure on-time project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or other relevant degree.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• 1-2 years of experience in field engineering or related role.

Responsibilities

• Assist Foreman with structure layout.
• Field purchase orders.
• Engineering duties as assigned for assistance in planning construction.
• Maintain and update project logs and schedules.
• Identify need for RFIs.
• Prepare, review and process shop drawings.
• Maintain as-built drawings.
• Collect and assemble O&M material.
• Perform subcontract scope analysis.
• Assist with purchasing and expediting.
• Document distribution.
• Meeting minutes and distribution.
• Scheduling.
