Job summary

Sundt Enterprise in Austin, TX, seeks an entry-level Project Engineer Assistant to be the technical source for the project, assisting with drawings, specs, shop drawings, and change orders. You will help write RFIs, meeting minutes, and review submittals.

This role supports owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers, with a three-step growth path (I, II, Senior) to advance skill and experience.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position normally requiring a four-year construction-related degree or equivalent technical/field experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to communicate effectively with project team and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Engineer in developing and maintaining as-built drawings and processing submittals, change orders, RFIs, and budget forecasting.
• Support and execute the project management plan; participate in change management and scope activities.
• Support administration of the quality management plan and promote safety culture on the project.
• Assist in calculating daily production rates and unit costs for self-performed work; participate in risk management.
• Coordinate BIM between subcontractors and designers as needed.
• Assist with LEED documentation and creating/updating Digital Record Drawings (ORD).
• Provide lines, grades and layout as required and maintain an organized logbook.
• Maintain quantity logs and report quantities; assist in budgeting and cost control to meet budget.
• Provide support to superintendents and help resolve field problems as necessary.
