Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Estimating Section Manager for water & wastewater projects. You will provide leadership, drive profitability, and oversee preconstruction services from planning to bid.

The role requires coordinating with engineering, procurement, and project controls to deliver accurate, comprehensive estimates. Responsibilities include staff management, cost modeling, risk assessment, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards across multiple locations including

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction, or related field.
• 5+ years in design or project management; water/wastewater preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication and presentation skills.
• Experience with estimating tools and software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the estimating/preconstruction team for water/wastewater projects.
• Manage staff load, ensure profitable growth and meet billable goals.
• Lead preconstruction planning, scheduling, risk assessment and cost estimating.
• Oversee safety, quality, procurement, and project controls.
• Coordinate with risk management and project execution teams.
• Prepare and analyze cost models; develop preliminary construction schedules.
• Maintain subcontractor/vendor relationships and ensure complete estimates.
