Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Assistant Construction Manager to support the Construction Project Manager and EPC teams on water and wastewater projects in Virginia. You will help manage safety, quality, schedule, cost control, document control, and client interface on site.

This role requires a Bachelor degree in construction or engineering and at least 3 years of construction experience; strong communication, computer, and organizational skills are essential; travel and site coordination are

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, construction management, engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant construction experience or equivalent.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day management of safety, quality, schedule, and cost control.
• Coordinate with EPC Project Manager, Site Manager and contractors on site.
• Develop project plans, QA/QC plans and procurement plans.
• Support bidding, RFPs, subcontracts, change orders, and invoicing processes.
• Maintain project documentation, reporting, and turnover packages.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with permits, staffing, and project risk reviews.
• Monitor progress, communicate status, and prepare minutes for stakeholders.
