Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Estimating Section Manager to lead the preconstruction and estimating team for Water & Wastewater projects in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. You will drive profitability, plan budgets, and coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project controls to deliver strong project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction, or related degree is required.
• 10 years of experience leading estimating or pre-construction for water and/or wastewater projects is preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
• Expert in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Bluebeam experience is preferred.
• General knowledge of estimating software systems; experience with HCSS HeavyBid, PlanSwift or Agtek is preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the team; direct and coordinate work assignments and review performance.
• Responsible for profitable growth of the section and ensuring staffing meets project requirements while maintaining billable goals.
• Manage preconstruction services including planning, scheduling, cost estimating, risk assessment and management.
• Lead preconstruction execution and timely completion of projects within budget with expertise in safety, quality, procurement and project controls.
• Coordinate communication between Water Engineering GP and preconstruction & estimating section.
