Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, Inc. is seeking an undergraduate intern in civil engineering to support a dedicated design team on water and wastewater projects. You will assist with research, drawings, and documentation to gain practical experience and further your education.

You will participate in site visits, learn department standards, and collaborate with architects, engineers, and multidisciplinary staff to develop basic design skills and professional acumen.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office for documentation and communication.
• Ability to prepare well-organized, clear written materials.
• Attention to detail and creativity in developing design tasks.
• Develop presentation skills for communicating ideas to groups.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior staff with basic design tasks and research.
• Prepare drawings/documents for programming, schematic design, and design development.
• Support creation of presentation and marketing materials.
• Assist with construction-phase activities and site visits.
• Follow quality control procedures and learn company standards.
• Develop basic design and technical skills through hands-on practice.
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate across disciplines.
