Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is offering an internship for civil engineering students pursuing an ABET-accredited degree. The role supports the design department with tasks from research to documentation, and provides active participation in project design and development.

Immigration sponsorship is not available except TN visa eligibility. The intern will gain practical experience, attend team meetings, and work under supervision within a professional, office and field environment.

Qualifications

• Familiar with Microsoft Office for document creation and email communication.
• Ability to prepare well organized, clear, and concise written materials.
• Attention to detail and creativity in supporting design tasks.
• Developing presentation skills for communicating ideas to groups.
• Ability to manage time and workload with supervisor guidance.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic design tasks and research, contribute to programming, schematic design, modeling, graphics, design development, and construction phase documents.
• Support creation of presentation and marketing materials.
• Participate in site visits, RFI responses, and review of shop drawings; help update record drawings.
• Follow quality control procedures and learn department standards.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, interior designers and multidisciplinary team members.
