Job summary

Halff is seeking a Water/Wastewater Intern for our Austin, TX office. The Civil Engineering Intern will assist with drainage and stormwater analysis and support Water & Wastewater Utility projects, including pipeline and facility modeling, planning, process, design, and construction.

Interns are paid hourly and work full-time (40 hours/week), typically 8a-5p Monday through Friday. The internship runs June 7 to August 13, 2027, and Halff does not provide housing for internships.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree.
• Experience with HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS is required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.
• Assist in drainage and stormwater analysis and design.
• Support Water & Wastewater Utility projects including pipeline and facility modeling, planning, process, design, and construction.
• Assist in preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Water Resources projects.
• Perform drafting CAD work.
• Perform calculations and analysis for design projects.
• Assist in preparation of permit applications and regulatory documents.
• Coordinate with team members, surveyors, architects, and contractors.
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
