Job summary

Halff is seeking a Water/Wastewater Intern for our Austin, TX office. The Civil Engineering Intern will assist with drainage and stormwater analysis and support Water & Wastewater Utility projects, including pipeline and facility modeling, planning, process, design, and construction.

Interns are paid hourly and work full-time (40 hours/week), typically 8a-5p Monday through Friday. The internship runs June 7 to August 13, 2027, and Halff does not provide housing for internships.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree.
• Experience with HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS is required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.
• Assist in drainage and stormwater analysis and design.
• Support Water & Wastewater Utility projects including pipeline and facility modeling, planning, process, design, and construction.
• Assist in preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Water Resources projects.
• Perform drafting CAD work.
• Perform calculations and analysis for design projects.
• Assist in preparation of permit applications and regulatory documents.
• Coordinate with team members, surveyors, architects, and contractors.
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.

Water/Wastewater Intern

Halff is actively seeking an Intern for our Water/Wastewater team in our Austin, TX office. The Civil Engineering Intern will help with drainage and stormwater analysis and design and support Water & Wastewater Utility projects, including pipeline and facility modeling, planning, process, design, and construction. The Intern will help perform water resources design, support projects in water resources planning, hydrology and hydraulic modeling, and other engineering tasks as needed. The Internship will begin on June 7th, 2027, and conclude on August 13th, 2027.

What you will do:
