Job summary

Halff in Austin, TX is seeking a Water/Wastewater Intern to support drainage and stormwater analysis, and water/wastewater utility projects, including modeling and design. You’ll gain hands-on experience in planning, process, and construction under a Professional Engineer's supervision.

The internship runs June 7 to August 13, 2027, is full-time (40 hours/week), and paid hourly. Housing is not provided; candidates should be pursuing Civil Engineering degrees and have familiarity with

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or ABET-accredited equivalent program.
• Experience with HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS is required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated with good organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer.
• Assist with drainage and stormwater analysis and design.
• Support water/wastewater utility projects including pipeline and facility modeling, planning, and construction.
• Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for water resources projects.
• Perform drafting CAD work and design calculations.
• Assist in permit applications and other regulatory documents.
• Coordinate with surveyors, architects, and contractors and attend client/regulatory meetings.
