Job summary

Halff in McAllen, TX is seeking a Water/Wastewater Intern to support drainage and stormwater analysis and design, and assist with Water & Wastewater Utility projects, including modeling and construction.

You will gain hands-on experience designing with supervision, performing CAD drafting, and preparing permit documents, while developing communication and teamwork skills during a 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree.
• Experience with HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS is required.
• Great communication skills.
• Solid relationship and team building skills.
• Self-motivated and strong organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer.
• Help design drainage and stormwater analysis and design.
• Support Water & Wastewater Utility projects including pipeline and facility modeling, planning, process design and construction.
• Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Water Resources projects.
• Perform drafting CAD work.
• Perform calculations and analyses for design projects.
• Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents.
• Coordinate with other team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors.
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
