Job summary

RETTEW seeks an experienced Water/Wastewater Engineer 3 to join our Municipal team in Lancaster, PA, delivering critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will take ownership of technical assignments under senior guidance and engage across design, permitting, and project coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited program.
• Minimum of four years of relevant engineering experience, including internship or co-op experience.
• Professional experience supporting water and/or wastewater engineering or related municipal projects.
• Ability to manage assigned work with increasing independence and collaborate with PMs and senior staff.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations, analyses, and moderate design assignments for municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Support planning, design, rehabilitation, and improvement of pump stations, treatment facilities, water distribution and sewer systems.
• Prepare plans, specifications, technical reports, cost estimates, permit applications, and other deliverables.
• Participate in field investigations, construction observation, and project support.
• Evaluate field data and conditions to support engineering recommendations.
• Coordinate work with Project Managers, engineers, designers, clients, regulators, and contractors.
• Manage tasks within scope, schedule, budget, and quality; communicate issues early.
• Research regulations and support permit coordination for municipal projects.
• Participate in client meetings and present engineering aspects of assignments.
• Assist with project scopes, budgets, schedules, proposals, and delivery activities.
• Provide direction to junior staff when appropriate.
• Build client relationships and identify additional opportunities for RETTEW.
