Job summary

The City of Annapolis Department of Public Works seeks an Engineer II (Water/Sewer) to design, permit, and oversee critical utility infrastructure, balancing office analysis with field inspections to ensure safe drinking water and effective wastewater conveyance.

Responsibilities include managing CIP projects, providing technical oversight during construction, reviewing development plans, conducting hydraulic modeling, and mentoring junior engineers in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree with 3 years of professional experience; EIT required or eligible within 6 months.
• Alternative: 9 years of professional engineering experience with independent technical responsibility and Maryland Board eligibility.
• Special requirements: valid driver’s license; position may include random drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Manage CIP projects from planning to closeout, including scope, schedule and budgets.
• Provide technical oversight of construction activities and review TTC plans.
• Review private development plans to ensure public utility compliance.
• Perform data analysis, hydraulic modeling, and rate studies for asset planning.
• Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance.
