Job summary

Halff is seeking new graduates who will graduate in December 2026 or May 2027 for our Water & Wastewater Utilities team in our McAllen, TX office. The position is for a General Civil Engineer interested in water & wastewater utility projects including pipeline and facility modeling, planning, process design and construction.

This role offers strong development with potential ownership as you grow with Halff.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Dec 2025 or May 2026 graduates encouraged)
0–3 years of experience in water & wastewater projects and design
Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD preferred
Desirable Civil 3D, ArcGIS, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, InfoWater
Excellent communication and team-building skills
Self-motivated with strong organizational skills

Responsibilities

Design civil engineering projects under supervision of a Professional Engineer
Support water & wastewater utility projects including modeling, planning, design, and construction
Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates
Perform drafting CAD work
Perform calculations and analysis for design projects
Assist in permit applications and regulatory documents
Coordinate with team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors
Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies
