Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Superintendent with a Water/Wastewater background in the Sanford, FL area to lead field operations on water and wastewater treatment plant projects.

You will supervise field personnel, enforce safety and quality standards, and coordinate scheduling, inspections, and site logistics to deliver projects on time and within budget. Strong communication, subcontract coordination, and history of managing multi-million-dollar projects are preferred,

Qualifications

• Experience supervising water/wastewater projects.
• Experience managing craft and self-performing work preferred.
• Experience with self-performing cast-in-place concrete, piping, and mechanical equipment.
• Strong communication and people skills.
• Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Competent Person training in Trenching, Scaffolds, Rigging, Confined Space, and Fall Protection.
• OSHA 10-hour, First Aid & CPR, SWPPP Inspector, silica, Risk Management, and Accident training.
• History of successful completion of multi-million-dollar projects.

Responsibilities

• Monitor safety and enforce safety policy on site.
• Ensure quality standards are met or exceeded on all work.
• Short-term scheduling including manpower and equipment resources.
• Coordinate permit and regulatory inspections.
• Field document control including daily reports and progress photographs.
• Material handling (receiving, inventory, storage, spare parts).
• Subcontract coordination and communication on site.
• Jobsite hiring as required.
• As-Built drawings preparation and maintenance.
• Participate in post-construction review.
• Small tool management and maintenance.
• Knowledge of contract documents and requirements.
• Jobsite security and access control.
• Ensure completion of every project within time and budget.
• Accurate and timely quantity reporting and timekeeping.
• Identify and communicate changes in scope to Project Manager.
• Maintain a clean and orderly jobsite.
