Job summary

RK&K is seeking Construction Inspectors and Construction Engineers experienced in water/wastewater and utility construction inspection to support multiple Field Engineering and Inspection projects across Virginia's Hampton Roads and Middle Peninsula. The role involves independent site work and close collaboration with project managers, engineers, and other team members.

Essential functions include inspecting water/wastewater, stormwater and related facilities, reviewing submittals,

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Independent self-starter able to manage multiple projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and tablet PDF annotators.
• VA Driver License required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of water/wastewater, stormwater, utilities and related facilities construction projects to verify compliance with plans, codes, and safety regulations.
• Provide field engineering, construction management and contract support on site and in office.
• Ensure workmanship and materials meet project specifications.
• Accurately document inspection activities by creating daily reports and maintaining field files.
• Oversee material testing to ensure materials meet project specs.
• Conduct field measurements to establish quantities for pay items and other contract docs.
• Participate in close out activities, including punch lists and final inspection reports.
• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, sub-contractors and project teams.
