Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Construction Inspector experienced in water/wastewater utility construction inspection or knowledgeable in infrastructure construction. This role supports a Field Engineering and Inspection project originating out of the Treasure Coast and Southeast FL area.

Construction Inspectors work independently on project sites but coordinate with project managers and other team members to deliver services on water, wastewater, stormwater, and related infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3+ years of experience in construction administration and inspection of water/wastewater facilities or related infrastructure.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and tablet-based PDF annotators.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Knowledge of building codes, estimating, and contractor pricing.
• Experience reading shop drawings and test results.

Responsibilities

• Inspect water/wastewater and roadway infrastructure to verify compliance with approved plans and codes.
• Provide field engineering, inspection support, and contract administration on site and in office.
• Document inspection activities with daily reports and organized field files.
• Coordinate material testing to ensure compliance with project specs.
• Conduct field measurements for pay items and contract documentation.
• Assist in close-out activities and punch list preparation.
• Communicate with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure alignment.
