Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an Area Director for Water/Wastewater to lead delivery of multi‑million dollar projects in the Upper Mid‑West. This role combines business development, strategic client engagement, and executive oversight of complex programs across water and wastewater infrastructure.

You will manage budgets, contract negotiations, and risk while mentoring a diverse team; relocation is eligible and travel is required as projects dictate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Professional Engineering License; PE required.
• Extensive water/wastewater industry leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead business development efforts and client relationship growth in the Upper Mid-West.
• Oversee project management, budgeting, invoicing and performance reviews.
• Direct project execution and risk management across multi‑million dollar water/wastewater initiatives.
• Coach and develop staff; drive recruitment and professional growth.
• Provide strategic guidance and governance for project teams and contracts.
