Job summary

The City of Aurora is seeking a Water Utility Supervisor to lead warehousing, maintenance, and facilities support for the Water Department. You will coordinate crews, manage inventories, ensure safety compliance, and support procurement processes while driving reliable utility operations.

The role requires strong leadership, budgeting, and cross-functional coordination across teams and contractors, with a focus on safe, efficient water services for Aurora residents.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years progressively responsible experience in maintenance, repair or construction in a large utility.
• Experience in material procurement and maintenance using a computer-based inventory and project tracking database system.
• Colorado driver’s license or ability to operate a city vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Supervises utility warehouse, skilled trades, and facilities maintenance operations; allocates personnel, materials, and equipment.
• Plans, assigns, monitors, and reviews work; provides direction, coaching, and training.
• Participates in employee selection and performance management decisions.
• Develops and implements operational goals, work plans, and performance expectations.
• Coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance for water facilities and assets.
• Oversees warehouse and inventory activities, including storage, tracking, and procurement.
• Coordinates with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to address operational issues.
• Supports procurement activities by identifying needs and recommending products.
