Job summary

Aurora Water is seeking a dynamic Supervisor of Planning Services to shape future infrastructure. This leadership role drives master plans for water, wastewater, and stormwater systems across departments at the City of Aurora.

The ideal candidate will guide strategic planning, forecasting, and capital budget recommendations while mentoring engineers and ensuring high-quality deliverables in a hybrid in-person/remote environment.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or related field).
• Seven years of utility infrastructure engineering experience with emphasis on planning.
• Colorado PE licensure or ability to obtain within six months.
• Driver’s license with a good driving history.
• Three years of supervisory experience is preferred.
• Long-range master planning experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads and supervises the Long‑Range Planning Team, managing staff, workload, and key initiatives.
• Establishes priorities, goals, and performance expectations while holding team members accountable.
• Participates in recruitment and selection of technical engineering staff.
• Oversees onboarding and training, addresses performance gaps, and monitors workload data.
• Fosters a high‑performing, customer‑focused team culture reflecting department and city objectives.
• Demonstrates deep expertise in utility master planning, including growth forecasting and stormwater principles.
