Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Salary: $29.96 - $37.45/hour. Application deadline: Sunday, June 1, 2025, or until a qualified pool is obtained.

  • Lead a team in the operation, maintenance, and repair of water transmission and distribution systems.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs.
  • Oversee work assignments and review team performance.
  • Operate specialized equipment and coordinate daily activities.
  • Troubleshoot water system issues and provide customer service during emergencies.
  • Maintain records and assist in training personnel.
  • Respond to water, wastewater, and stormwater emergencies, including snow removal and standby duties.
Minimum Qualifications & Working Conditions
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least three years of responsible experience in water system maintenance, preferably with pressure control valves.
  • Knowledge of water system hydraulics, safety practices, blueprint reading, and SCADA systems.
  • Skills in operating valves, hydrants, and tools safely; training personnel; hazard recognition; and attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand complex instructions, establish effective relationships, communicate effectively, and work overtime with a 45-minute response time.
  • Licenses: Class B CDL with Tanker Endorsement; Colorado Water Distribution 2 or Wastewater Collection 2.
  • Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds regularly, working outdoors in all weather, and operating various tools and equipment.
  • Work environment involves outdoor terrain, confined spaces, and exposure to noise, dust, and fumes.
