Job summary

Veolia in North America seeks a field service technician to perform meter-related field tasks, collect samples, install, read, test, and maintain customer service meters, and support field maintenance of mains and service lines.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2 years in the water utility field, excellent customer relations, and the ability to work independently with a valid driver's license; on-call weekends and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent customer relation skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Basic computer skills or ability to learn Google-based programs.
• Highly organized with the ability to work under pressure and independently.
• Basic understanding of water distribution systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform field service orders, read, test and repair residential water meters.
• Investigate billing readings in the field and check for leaks or main breaks.
• Tag for service termination and locate service lines.
• Maintain valve boxes and respond to customer inquiries.
• Assist with T&D operations, setup job sites, and traffic control as needed.
• Collect samples and support SCADA/control equipment installation.
