The City of Albany, Georgia is seeking an Equipment Operator to support the water utility system's construction, maintenance and repair activities. You will operate a range of equipment, load/unload materials, and assist in water line work and hydrant service.

Requires a high school diploma or GED, plus two years of relevant experience or technical training; a valid CDL with endorsements is required or must be obtained within six months of hire. Water Distribution License preferred.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED required; plus two years of experience and/or technical training in equipment operation or construction/maintenance.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with endorsements; obtain within six months of hire.
• Water Distribution License is preferred but not mandatory.

Aufgaben

• Operates a variety of equipment, machinery and tools used in water system construction, maintenance and repair.
• Transports, loads and unloads equipment and materials for projects.
• Locates/marks water lines, repairs pipeline breaks/leaks, conducts water taps, and installs water meters and hydrants.
• Lays/installs pipe and boring under roadways; digs holes or trenches; shovels materials; flags traffic as needed.
• Maintains equipment and tools; inspects, fluids, greasing, cleaning; reports faults.
• Prepares forms, reports, drawings and related documentation; handles work tickets and maps.
• Communicates information via telephone or two-way radio; serves requests for service.
