Job summary

The City of Albany, Georgia is seeking a Wastewater Plant Technician to operate and monitor plant equipment, collect samples, and perform in-house testing to ensure proper treatment of wastewater. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Vocational/Technical training in wastewater plant operations preferred.
• Must possess and maintain valid Grade III Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certification within one year of hire.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Monitor wastewater plant equipment and operating processes; inspect for safety and proper operation.
• Collect wastewater samples and perform in-house laboratory testing; record readings and results.
• Operate and adjust electrical and mechanical controls to regulate flow and process operations.
• Open/close valves and gate to manage flows; monitor sludge transfer and digesters.
