Baxter & Woodman is seeking a Water Utility Engineer I to design drinking water, wastewater, and other infrastructure projects across Chicago O'Hare, Crystal Lake, Naperville, or Mokena, IL. The role supports design, project management, or business development depending on the engineer’s interests.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Civil Engineering and demonstrates strong writing, teamwork, and communication skills while contributing to CIP planning and regulatory coordination.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required.
• Ability to lead themselves through project design and manage tasks.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment with engineers and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Assist design of municipal water and sewer infrastructure improvements.
• Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, and reports.
• Apply trenchless tech methods like HDD and lining in designs.
• Support CIP planning through evaluation, budgeting, and planning.
• Conduct hydraulic analyses to support master planning efforts.
• Coordinate with regulators and assist with permit applications.
