Job summary

Baxter & Woodman Inc is seeking a Water Utility Engineer I to design drinking water and wastewater infrastructure in Illinois offices including Chicago (O'Hare), Crystal Lake, Naperville, and Mokena.

The role requires a B.S. in Civil Engineering with strong writing and teamwork skills, and offers growth in technical design, project management, or business development within our Infrastructure Department. Compensation ranges from $76,000 to $90,000.

Qualifications

• Design and analysis of municipal water distribution and sanitary sewer systems.
• Strong technical writing for reports, plans, and memos.
• Ability to coordinate with clients, regulators, and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and design of water and sewer infrastructure projects.
• Prepare plans, specs, estimates, and reports for utility projects.
• Perform hydraulic analyses and modeling for design support.
• Support CIP development, budgeting, and project evaluation.
• Coordinate permit applications with local, state, and federal agencies.
