Job summary

The City of Brooksville is seeking a skilled worker for water construction, repair and maintenance of its water systems. The role requires independent motivation, sound judgement, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather, with on-call duties and possible night/weekend shifts.

Primary duties are directed by the Utilities Superintendent or supervisor. Candidates must meet education and licensing requirements and be able to communicate in English.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year experience performing essential job functions.
• Valid Florida Class C Driver’s License; Class B preferred.
• Ability to obtain Florida level 3 water distribution license within 1 year.
• Must be able to communicate in English (oral and written).

Responsibilities

• Hands-on installation, repair and maintenance of piping and water system components under supervision.
• Work safely on water systems and adhere to safety standards.
• Address customer concerns professionally and promptly.
• Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Use laptop/tablet to complete work orders accurately.
• Operate construction equipment in water facility maintenance.
