Job summary

City of Brooksville is seeking a Utilities Technician I/II to oversee water construction, repair, maintenance and installation of water systems. The role requires independent motivation, good judgment and the ability to work outdoors in all weather; on-call rotation and possible nights, weekends, or holidays may apply.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 5 years of water/sewer experience, and FWPCOA certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years experience in water and/or sewer systems preferred.
• Certifications: FWPCOA Distribution III and related safety trainings within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains, repairs pumps, motors, valves and related equipment.
• Inspects and records readings; troubleshoots electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
• Reads blueprints and schematics; orders materials and maintains logs.
• Adheres to safety procedures; supports on-call rotations and emergency response.
