Job summary

The Southwest Florida Water Management District in Tampa invites you to join our General Services Bureau as a Fleet Services Student Intern. Gain hands-on experience in repairs, vehicle maintenance, parts ordering and documentation, all at our Tampa office.

This internship is on-site only, with expected hours up to 25 per week, and a compensation of $15 per hour. Applicants must be enrolled in college, with a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• Maintain minimum GPA: 2.5 (undergrad) or 3.0 (grad).
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean workspace in the Tampa Fleet shop.
• Clean District pool vehicles and assist in maintenance.
• Assist in repairs and maintenance on District vehicles and equipment.
• Order parts and supplies for Fleet projects.
• Track parts usage and complete paperwork.
