Job summary

Ames Construction is seeking a dedicated water truck operator to support our heavy civil projects in Clyde, NC and the Charlotte area. You will drive a water truck, perform inspections, and assist crews on active sites, ensuring DOT compliance and safety at all times.

The role is union; candidates must hold a Class A CDL, tanker endorsement, and a current medical card, with at least two years of construction experience. Gene ral travel within the Eastern Region may be required.

Qualifications

Class A CDL is required.
Current Medical Card is required.
Tanker endorsement required.
2+ years construction experience.
Knowledgeable of DOT regulations.
Willingness to learn and accept direction from supervisors.
Communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
Ability to manage time, multitask, and prioritize.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and maintain a clean driving record is required.

Responsibilities

Drive and operate a water truck safely on and off the project sites.
Pre and Post Trip inspection of the truck in compliance with DOT regulations.
Fuel and grease truck daily.
Perform tasks involving filling, hauling, and spraying water on a project jobsite.
Spraying water by hand with a hose.
Other duties as assigned including helping crews.
